Goal to reduce use of chemical fertilizers in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi targets 25% reduction in agricultural chemicals by 2013 according to Gulf News.

“The Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) has said the use of of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in agriculture will be reduced by 25 per cent in the emirate by 2013 as part of a sustainable agriculture strategy.

Officials of the ADFCA and Farmers Service Centre (FSC) also announced announced on Tuesday that they plan to increase the market share of local produce to 40 per cent in the next five years.”
